Solid!

Over the past week we have introduced Ethan to solid foods. Now, when we say "solid" we really mean "things that used to be solid and now mushed up". Dinner just got a whole lot messier.

First, we started him out on rice cereal. SIDENOTE: For non-parents out there, rice cereal is not the same thing as Rice Krispies. Not that I thought this at all. Honest!

Recently Ethan was introduced to pears. This is what he thought about it:

We also learned some basic rules to feeding an infant from a spoon:
  1. Don't feed the baby when he is too tired. Messy face + rubbing eyes = mess ALL OVER the face. And hands. And chair.

  2. Don't feed the baby when they are really hungry. This new solid food doesn't quench the hunger as much as a bottle.

  3. Feed the baby BEFORE bathtime.

Didn't all that info come in the Handbook you got when you left the hospital?

There's a handbook? Oh, good. I was worried that these things come without any instructions.

Maybe if you made Rice Cereal Treats, Ethan would like it better. Nothing says "nutritional snack!" like cereal mixed with marshmallows and butter. Mmmmm....
