We gave the news to Jill's family this past weekend in Dallas. We came up with about a half-dozen plans on how to tell them, but this is how it ultimately went down:
Jill: Brad, tell them what you got for your birthday.
Brad: I got a new golf club from my parents, a DVD from Jill, and a burp cloth and socks from the baby.
[stunned, contemplative silence]
Jill: We're PREGNANT!!!
That is the abbreviated version, but you get the idea. We spent the rest of the weekend talking baby talk, buying new maternity clothes, and celebrating with champagne and sparkling apple juice.
