Rockin' Out with the Movers

As mentioned in the previous post, we headed out to the Imagination Mover concert on Sunday afternoon. We got to the Verizon Wireless theatre downtown and saw the massive line to get inside. It's pretty cool to know that there are so many poeple as excited about the Movers as we are!

Ethan was decked out in his Mover shirt that Jill made along with his "Smitty hat." In this picture, I asked him to say "cheese" and instead he said "MOVERS!"

The show was awesome! The guys came out and gave a great show. They had their own idea emergency that they worked on during the show, sang some great songs, and everyone was up and dancing!

Ethan didn't dance all that much, though. He was just taking it in! There was a lot going on and a lot to look at. So he spent most of the time in our laps just watching it all.

And what made the show more fun was seeing the guys as they came out into the audience. Here's one of Rich as he was singing right in front of our section:

But the really cool stuff didn't come until after the show. I've been following the Movers on Facebook (it's for Ethan, honest!) and heard that the guys will come out afterwards to sign autographs and take pictures. And sure enough, after some of the crowds thinned out, they all came out and they had one Mover at the end of the main aisles!

At this point, Ethan had fallen asleep on Jill so I grabbed the camera and his CD case to go get autographed. While I was in line, Jill struck up a conversation with some people in the rows in front of where we sat. It turns out that this group had personal connections with the Movers from back in old days when they were small-time in New Orleans. She told them to pass on to the Movers how much we loved their TV show and their music. Apparently moved by our love and admiration of the band, one of the guys offered to get us back stage passes so we could meet them in person!

So with Ethan still asleep, the guy got us our passes and we waited in line with some others to do the "meet & greet." Right before our turn, we started to wake Ethan up and told him - "hey - you ready to meet the Movers?" Naturally, he was REALLY shy and wanted to stay close to Mom.

We went in, shook their hands and took a picture:

The Movers were super-nice! Dave remembered me from the show (we passed each other as he was out in the crowd and I was coming back with a drink), and they all signed Ethan CD case. And they gave us a great "thank you" for coming to the show - it wasn't a "thankyouforcoming" kind of thing, but a real "we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you" kind of thing. Scott even tried to give Ethan a fist bump to help wake him up.

Once we got back to the car, Ethan perked up more. He talked about the show all the way home and even today for school he wore his Imagination Mover Concert Tour T-shirt.

So, thank you, Movers for a great show! We'll be back again next year!!
