Ethan picked out the design and then we turned it over to Mom to scoop out all of the yucky pumpkin insides. We weren't touching that stuff!
Then we carved out the face of the pumpkin. Ethan looked a little scared in the picture below because the power had just gone out. Remember how I said it was a dark and stormy night? As soon as Jill said "Say Cheese", it all went dark! But that wasn't going to keep us from carving our pumpkin! We lit some candles and kept going.
Speaking of lighting candles, once everything was carved, Ethan got to drop in the candle:
Saturday night rolled around quickly and it was time to trick or treat before we knew it. This year Ethan dressed up as a train conductor (without a specific railroad affiliation - sorry, Isle of Sodor):
And going trick-or-treating with just one little boy isn't enough. We got our neighborhood posse and managed to get them to sit still long enough for a picture:
