We went out to the land of sugar to spend the holiday weekend with Grandma and Grandpa. Uncles Kevin and Keith also joined us! On Saturday we started the morning out with an Easter Egg hunt at a local park. We showed up a little early and Ethan got a chance to play around.
But once they announced that they were about to go after some eggs, E grabbed his bucket and he was all business! He patiently waited his turn for some candy.
They fired the starting pistol - I mean, honked the air horn - and the kids were off!
Now, do you see all those eggs in that picture below? And no other kids are near the little dude. Guess how many eggs he walked away with... Three. He stopped with three little eggs. Yes, he stopped picking them up after he got three eggs because it suddenly dawned on him that there was candy in the plastic shells. Not wanting to miss out on the candy he already collected, he started to open his eggs to see what was inside. It was at this point that the area swarmed with other tots and the eggs were quickly collected.
But don't feel bad for him - we're not starving for candy or Easter basket goodies at our house. Yes, the "Easter Bunny" left Ethan a little basket of goodies on Sunday morning.
But the real reason for the weekend is the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ! Happy Easter! He is Risen!
