Stone Soup

On Friday, Ethan's school read a story called "Stone Soup". It's a story about sharing and cooperation, so the school used it as a set up to have some guests join the kids for lunch. As Ethan's special guest, I got to sit down (in some very tiny chairs) to join them.

The tables were all set with a Thanksgiving theme and we sat down with dessert already on the table. We had one kid at our table that couldn't fight the urge and he ended up devouring his pie before the soup was served. Thankfully, Ethan (and I) had just enough self control...


Before we chowed down, one of the teachers read the short story of Stone Soup and told us how all of the kids pitched in to make what we were about to eat.


Soup was served and it was yummy! Ethan really seemed to like it - that and the rolls and cornbread they served with it...

Finally, it was time for dessert! It was Ethan's first taste of pumpkin pie and he thought it was great. But once the cool whip was gone, he didn't eat it as fast....

What a great lunch! We had a great time and we are so thankful for what wonderful teachers Ethan has!
