In Ethan's first three month's of life we've seen some doozies. And we know it will only get worse as we go along. This is such a universal problem, it's interesting to see how people handle it. Sure, we've seen the video on dads changing unreal smelling diapers. Now I found a website where a couple of guys take one four diaper pails and test how well they retain offensive odors:
Us? We use a regular ole trash can with a foot pedal.
The can is small so it gets emptied on a regular basis and with the foot pedal you don't need a free hand to operate it. We figured this design is classic (as it's worked for tens of years) and most of all, it's cheap.
Because after all, we're going to need as much money as we can for diapers.

Actually, once Ethan starts eating food, the smell isn't as bad as it is with formula. Also, keep some ziploc baggies handy for the really bad ones, and it'll help contain the smell, even if you empty the trash frequently.
The fun really starts when he eats raisins and you can then see how they go in as raisins and come out as grapes.
