Christmas in Louisiana

The four of us took a quick trip to Louisiana to see Maw Maw, Aunt Vickie, and Uncle Kennie. I wanted to take Maw Maw to see the Festival of the Lights in Natchitoches - such a family friendly town, where we go to for the Mardi Gras Parade. To start the day off, Maw Maw planned for us to see the Christmas Parade in Ball. We realized, we really are parade people!

Brad and Ethan waiting for the parade to start. We parked my car in the median (see the people across the highway, just like that). We didn't bring a "candy bag," so our "snack bag" was quickly converted and boy were we happy.

The parade was an hour and a half. Most floats/trucks/dancers/bands threw candy out to everyone. We had more candy than Halloween, yeah for the yummo chocolate!
Ethan was thrilled that Santa was on the final float!

My southern girl! Kinley's sweet friend, Georgia, took a few bites of grits to start solid foods and I couldn't agree more. Maw Maw cooked grits with our breakfast and Kinley Rae had a little taste.
Mmmmm, Brother, have you tried these?!?

More, please

Aunt Vickie and Uncle Kinnie kept Kinley while we went to see The Lights. They said it was because it was too cold for her to be out, I think they just wanted some snuggle time. We're thankful she was kept warm and got some extra love while we enjoyed The Lights.
