Ice, Ice, Baby

The Gaylord Texan hosts Ice! every winter. The idea behind Ice! is that everything inside the 9 degree tent is made of ice. We watched a brief video describing how 45 men spent the fall creating these amazing works of art. The theme this year was Peanuts, the Charles Schultz comic strip. Ethan has Brad read him this strip every Sunday, so he was particularly excited about seeing these characters. We had a fabulous, very cold, time in Ice!. Kinley and Nonnie sat this year out, enjoying cuddling time and staying warm.

waiting patienly for the informational video

wearing the super warm parkas -
Ethan's was more of a bodysuit
Charlie Brown and his Christmas tree
Snoopy and Lucy ice skating

Sally and her brother, Charlie Brown

The director, Charlie Brown -
the ice slides were below the director's chair

Auntie and Ethan taking a turn going down the ice slides -
a crowd favorite
Daddy having fun
the guy at the top gave Ethan a boost and he started spinning
totally head first at the bottom (he thought it was so cool)
Mommy finishing up her slide (Ethan headed to give a high five)

Yeah! Wasn't that fun?
Linus reciting the Christmas story from the book of Luke - they actually had him telling the story over the speakers in this section. It's such a blessing to hear the word of the Lord, regardless of location.

Scoot over Snoopy, Ethan and Mommy are movin' in

We loved spending time admiring the works of these amazing artists. If you're ever in DFW between Christmas and New Year's, take a trip out to the Gaylord Texan to stand in awe of these masterpieces. The entire hotel is decorated beautifully and there are lots of fun things for kiddos.
