First, we had Ethan's Fall Festival (school code words for "Halloween Party") with all kinds of activities, games, and (of course) candy. Ethan dressed up as a cute little lion. Honesly, we thought that it would be a big task to keep the mane bonnet on him, but he left it alone. Too much going on around him to worry about that!
One of the fun aspects of the Fall Festival was seeing the parents get into it. They were dressing up as much as the kids and they really got into the games. One dad who was an HPD officer brought his kids dressed up as a police dog and police motorcycle.
They had a cake walk, bean bag tosses, face painting, and a silent auction for various baskets of goodies (which several included free babysitting).
Ethan also got his first real taste of candy. We let him hold on to one of those Dum-Dum suckers to keep him occupied. Before we knew it, he had the wrapping pulled off and the sucker was in his mouth for the remainder of the evening.
So after all that craziness, we went on to Party #2 (aka, Sunday School pumpkin carving party). Jill handled the messy part of the carving and then I took care of the actual carving of the face. Ethan's job was to make sure it was scary enough and structurally sound:
Overall, we had a fun and busy night. Ethan was so tired, it was hard to get his PJ's on. He just wanted to strech out and go to sleep....

That pumpkin looks like it's trying to bite Ethan's hand.
And that last one looks like Ethan has been taking lessons from Maggie about how to stretch out.

You shouldn't just be lion around (ha, ha!) there's too much candy to eat! You sure do make a cute lil' cub, though. We hope you had a happy first Halloween!!! Love ya kiddo!
