We didn't waste much time getting to the beach once we arrived on Maui. The first stop was Kaanapali Beach and the Black Rock. Ethan was a little wary of the waves coming in, so we took it slow. We started with something he knew well - the sand!
Then, to help wash the sand off, we slowly crept into the water. Eventually, he really dug it. He even started saying, "Hello, water!!" when the waves would come up to him.
But Ethan really loved the sand - digging int it, moving it around, picking it up, rolling around in it, etc.
We decided to take it easier on the first day. Part of it was getting Ethan's internal clock adjusted to the time change (5 hours earlier to what we normally function in). More to come soon!
